How to get to Faro



Most Intercontinental flights arrive at Lisbon from which there are good rail and bus links to Faro.


Within Europe, there are several flight companies flying to Faro International Airport. The airport is located near the city centre at 6,5 km. To get to the city centre and back to the airport there are various public transport options (bus or taxi).




FARO


Faro is the capital city of the Algarve region of southern Portugal and borders the Ria Formosa National Park.

The Algarve boasts > 300 days of sun per year, stunning beaches and mountain vistas, opportunities for diving, golf, and other sporting activities, and a unique traditional regional cuisine mostly based on seafood.

A variety of activities are available most days including diving, surf, stand-up paddle, windsurf, kayaking, horse-riding, tennis, bird-watching, nature walks, boat guided tours, and fishing.

Penha Campus is situated in Faro, within a walking distance from the city center (see map below).


There are buses to and from the city center to Penha (timetable).
